About Us

The Shop - Fitz & Bennett Home opened its doors on a sunny little corner in the historic Old Port of Portland, Maine in October 2017.  We believe in filling your home with a mix of new and old, steals and splurges, and most importantly what you love (because that is all that matters).  We hope you find some of your favorite pieces (to keep and to gift) here with us. 

The Founder - Lauren is a Maine transplant of about 13 years. Originally from coastal Connecticut, Lauren studied textiles and merchandising in Rhode Island and then made her way North to Portland on a whim.  After years of working in interior design and retail Lauren decided to go out on her own.  Fitz & Bennett Home is Lauren's vision to bring a curated selection of beautiful, affordable objects for the home to the Portland area.

Come by for a visit!  Bring your dogs (we have treats!), bring your kids (we'll hold your baby while you shop), bring your husbands (or they can wait outside if they insist).  Everyone is welcome and we are happy to have you!

The shop name is a nod to Lauren's two late Grandmothers, Joan Fitzgerald and Muriel Bennett.
